So tonight we found a cow outside the fence.
We got him back in and he went right back.
The Boy did a good job herding him back into the pasture two more times while we worked on adding a third line to the electric fence. We also added another paddock to the other side of the barnyard. And we’re hooking up a stronger energizer to hopefully that will do the trick.
Cause you know, the grass is always greener.

Hopefully he stays in for you! We way overbuilt our fences in our two main pastures, but our ‘back pasture’ is just two strands of electric. We always worry a little when they’re out there.

I often tease my hubby about overbuilding everything. The barnyard is more than adequate which is where they spent the night cause we ran out of daylight before we could get the second pasture wired and the third row completed. Hopefully three stands will keep him!

In our main pasture we have 4×4 woven wire along with three strands of electric! But if the power goes out we don’t need to worry too much, and when we have calves we don’t need to worry about them getting out or something else getting in.
