Before all the activity of the day started I sent an email to the county to see if I can get our barn quilt on the county Barn Quilt Tour guide/map. They responded quickly and the barn quilt tour is a project they hope to start back up after the first of the year. So I made a note to touch base with them again in January.
Once we got the chores finished we had the day to tie up odds and ends and get ready for the calves coming on Saturday. The barnyard fence is complete and all the gates (properly) installed. I pulled a clump of poison ivy and the Old Man removed a very large rock from the barnyard. The stock tank from the Old Man’s grandma’s farm is full and ready to go. There is a bit yet to do to finish up the hay manger. But other than that I believe we may be ready.
Honestly, after all our waiting it seems to be happening rather quickly.
