Got up at 5a to get together my egg orders for hubby to take to work. I wanted to head over to the post office so I could arrive right at 6. If there was a problem with the chicks I didn’t want it to be due to my negligence. Of course they were chirping away and every single one of them were just fine. The addition of the brooder and water in the barn made it such a pleasure to get them all set up. They are the quintessential fluffy, yellow chicks that you see in children’s picture books and I was surprised to see that the tips of their wings are starting to feather out already, being only three days old.
P.S. Pigs pant and breathe through their mouth just like a dog when they’re hot.
