“You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” Deuteronomy 6:9

One of the things I try to do in our old farm house is to mark it as belonging to God. While I like the painted signs of sayings and phrases, they are just to permanent for me. I like to change things frequently–so I prefer my chalkboard. It’s the perfect way to live with scripture on a daily basis, changing the message as often as I have need, focusing on an area that needs repeated in my life,  reflecting the passages I’m reading from each day, or helping me with memorization. It also gets pressed into service as a birthday sign and general message board on occasion.

I have three available vintage frames painted in Annie Sloan’s old white, lightly distressed and waxed with clear and a touch of dark waxes….

Chalkboard No. 1 (pictured above and below):
This over-sized chalkboard is bordered with a vintage frame in old white and is lightly distressed and hand waxed with clear and dark wax.
The distressing shows bits of the old gold finish and highlights the ornate details.
It is approximately 29″ x 53″.
No longer available.
Chalkboard No. 2 (pictured in the photos above and below):
Approximately 22″ x 30″.
Distressing accentuates the strong profile of the frame. Also in old white.
No longer available.
Chalkboard No. 3 (pictured above and below):
This simple and bold frame is 3 1/2″ wide. Lightly distressed and waxed to a subtle shine.
The board and frame measures approximately 25″ x 31″.
No longer available.
